In a community known for its heart, its pride, and its unwavering support for one another, Giovanna Barrios has quietly—and consistently—become one of the driving forces behind that spirit. As this month’s Rising Star and Woman of Influence for Seminole County, Giovanna represents something special: a leader who blends business success with a deep, personal commitment to service.

If you’ve spent any time around Lake Mary, chances are you’ve already felt the ripple effect of her work.

Giovanna currently serves as CEO of FCS Facility Services, where she has built a respected janitorial company grounded in professionalism, reliability, and opportunity. She also leads as President of Casa Leon Jewelers, bringing a refined business sense into a completely different industry. But what truly sets her apart isn’t just what she’s built—it’s how she shows up for others while doing it.

“I was raised to believe in service, gratitude, and standing up for those who stand up for us,” Giovanna shared with me. “Watching loved ones serve in the military and witnessing firsthand the sacrifices of law enforcement officers in our community gave me a deep respect for those who protect our freedoms and safety. It’s more than admiration—it’s a responsibility to support and uplift them in return.”

That mindset is exactly what led her into some of her most impactful roles in the community. As President of the Lake Mary HEROES Foundation, Giovanna has helped create meaningful support systems for first responders and their families—whether through financial assistance, appreciation events, or simply showing up when it matters most.

“We’ve been able to show our officers and their families that their community sees them, values them, and stands behind them,” she said. “From financial assistance in times of need to heartfelt appreciation events, our work has helped boost morale and build a bridge of trust and gratitude.”

And those moments aren’t abstract—they’re personal.

“One of the most rewarding moments was when we provided emergency financial support to a Lake Mary police officer facing a serious health crisis,” Giovanna told me. “His heartfelt message of gratitude reminded me that what we do isn’t just about donations or events—it’s about being there when it matters most, creating a real sense of family and community.”

Her impact extends even further through her role on the Board of Directors for the National Veterans Parade Foundation, where she continues to advocate for those who have served our country.

“I was inspired by the idea that veterans deserve more than a thank-you—they deserve ongoing recognition and connection,” she said. “Through the parade and year-round initiatives, we create opportunities for the public to engage with our heroes, learn their stories, and honor their service in a way that brings generations together.”

What I appreciate most about Giovanna is that her leadership doesn’t feel distant—it feels accessible. It’s rooted in real action, real presence, and real care for the people around her. Whether it’s sponsoring the Blue Line 5K, supporting local first responder events, or helping families in times of need, she’s not just involved—she’s invested.

“For the past four years our family has sponsored the Blue Line 5K Run supporting our first responders,” she said. “It is wonderful to see the whole community come out in support and the camaraderie is unmatched.”

Beyond her nonprofit and community work, Giovanna is also active in civic engagement—advocating for small businesses, fair labor practices, and opportunities for minority- and women-owned companies. She has even traveled to Capitol Hill to ensure those voices are heard, using her platform to elevate industries and individuals that often go overlooked.

And yet, through it all, she remains grounded in a simple philosophy—start where you are.

“Start small, but start,” she advises. “Find a cause that speaks to your heart and offer your time, talents, or simply your willingness to help. The most meaningful impact often begins with a single act of service.”

That message couldn’t be more fitting—not just for young leaders, but for all of us.

Because what Giovanna Barrios is showing this community isn’t just how to succeed—it’s how to serve while doing it. And in a place like Seminole County, that’s exactly the kind of leadership that leaves a lasting legacy.
